What time is it? It's diner time! I had skipped breakfast today - other than a cup of coffee, a bottle of water, and a Cappuccino, I'd ingested nothing substantial - so it was time for a late lunch. I stopped at the Cross Keys Diner about 1:30 pm-ish or so. I think the lunch rush was over - there was only a couple of other customers in the place. I was seated and was thinking - even as I was walking in - that I had a hankering for some real diner-grade meat loaf. And Hallelujah! They had it on the menu! I ordered the meat loaf - you get a choice of two sides, I chose mashed potatoes and Lima beans, plus a glass of water. While I was waiting, one of the waitresses brought out a small plate with one of those pathetic, commercial grade rolls with a pat of butter. I ate it though while I was waiting, cuz I was hungry! The food then came out. I must say it was quite a plate of food (see the pix). Three large, thick, meaty slices of delectable, delicious, down-home meat loaf, with a thick, savory, manly gravy (Su and Lester would have been rubbing themselves down with the slices drenched in gravy :-) ). The mashed potatoes are presented as a "scoop" of potatoes - probably with an ice cream scooper. The Lima beans were very tender. I added black pepper to everything, and a pinch of salt to the Lima beans. I was thinking it was a lot of food for lunch - but I devoured all of it. My waitress promptly refilled my water glass the one time it needed it. $8 and change for this filling lunch. I tipped my waitress $2.00.

They are lucky to get one star. I stopped going here because it always smells like the sewage is backing up. The food is blah. The staff is slow but friendly.

Looks like every other diner. Clean and bright inside. Service was very slow. Food was good, typical diner food

The food here was not great. I got chicken supreme soup and roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes and stuffing. There was a large piece of chicken in the soup that was almost all fat. The roast beef was also very fatty and tasted like lunch meat. The stuffing and mashed potatoes weren't great either. And the gravy was mediocre at best. The only reason I gave this place a 2 is because the service was very good. I didn't like the atmosphere either. There were no windows where we were sitting. It made the place feel dark and unfriendly. I won't be eating here again.

Being from New Jersey I have high expectations for diners. Cross Keys Diner is a good solid diner experience. The staff was nice, the food was good. The table a bit wobbly and the spoons a little bit greasy. But a good experience overall. I would recommend it to a friend.

I've driven by this place a number of times coming to and from York The price is right, but the food was nothing to write home about. I had the chicken croquet, and they pretty much tasted like pot pie filling sans veggies, with a tasteless heavy gravy on top. I will say that the appetizer that my friend and I got was excellent, they were mushrooms stuffed with crab meat. This place would do fine in a pinch, especially if you're looking for a cheap meal. But I'm not sure that I would go out of my way to eat here again.

Not only was the food mediocre, but there were ANTS crawling across our table. Our waitress was awesome and when we told her about it, she went to the manager or owner to let them know. I didn't realize she was doing this, especially since we weren't looking for free food, but rather just letting her know. However, her manager only allowed her to take our drinks off. No discount on the food since we didn't finish it as we were pretty grossed out. To top it off, the manager was the one who checked us out and she was extremely rude! Won't be going there again.

Just a nice little diner on the corner. Great fries, friendly wait staff, also very accommodating to elderly people as I noticed of the people in line in front of us. Handicap accessible and suitable for all!

Diners aren't usually vegan-friendly, and of course this one isn't, but they went out of their way to accommodate me. The service was great, the waitstaff friendly, and my family really enjoyed the food, especially the cake.

The prices are decent and the portions are sizable. The service was good, the food was average.

Ignore these other reviews. This is the Keystone Diner and I don't know who these less than 40 year olds are posting here, critiquing, this diner has been around for a long time, and yes their breakfast is good, but so is there lunch and supper. If it's not vegetarian, or doesn't look to your standards, don't stop here.
